The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati invites online applications for the position of Junior Engineer (Trainee) in the Infrastructure Planning and Management (IPM) Section. These are temporary positions with contractual appointments. The contract will last one year and can be extended based on successful performance and the Institute’s requirements.
JUNIOR ENGINEER (TRAINEE): 10 posts
- (Civil Engineering: 07 Nos.
- Electrical Engineering: 02 Nos.
- Mechanical Engineering: 01 No.
Duration: Contractual Appointment for 11 Months (may be extended for another 2 terms of 11 months each based on satisfactory performance)
Remuneration: Consolidated stipend of Rs. 25,000 (Rupees twenty-five thousand only) per month will be paid during the contract period. Free hostel accommodation may be provided, subject to availability.
Minimum Qualification: Three-year Diploma in Civil / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University / Institute.
Preferred Experience of IIT Guwahati Temporary Junior Engineer (Trainee) Recruitment 2026
Candidates with past field expertise in areas such as building maintenance, technical estimation, tender preparation, and other site-related tasks will be given precedence.
Selected candidates will be required to perform both field and office duties in various civil / electrical / mechanical works of the Institute, like estimate and tender preparation, project work’s site visits and supervision, and project management.
