The Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC) has released a recruitment notification for Junior Assistant and Junior Accounts Assistant posts. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications through the online Google Form available on the official website. This recruitment offers 4 vacancies in total under ASTEC.
Recruitment for Junior Assistants (for 03 posts)
The minimum qualification of the Junior Assistants is Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce with minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute in English and 25 words per minute in Assamese. Out of the three posts, one post will be preferred from candidates having Commerce background. With a Pay Band and the Grade Pay is Rs.14000 – Rs.49000/- and Rs. 7400/- respectively as per the Council’s norms.

Selection Procedure
1. The last date of submission of Application through online mode (Google form link available in the ASTEC Official Website https://astec.assam.gov.in/) is up to 20-04-2026 till 05:00 PM.
2. Applications will be received on online mode only through a Google Form – as per the link available in the ASTEC Official Website – https://astec.assam.gov.in/.
3. The applications will be scrutinized based on the academic records of the candidates (maximum of 25 marks for HSLC, 25 marks for Higher Secondary and 50 marks for Graduate examination). Number of candidates to be called for the written test would be on 1:10 ratio (i.e. total 30 nos for Junior Assistant posts). The written test will consist of 100 multiple choice questions carrying one mark in each question. The questions will be class X standard (Mathematics, General Science, English and Social Studies) and Current affairs.
4. Based on the written test the candidates will be called for the skill test in 1:3 ratio against each post. The skill test will be of 50 marks. In the skill test two or more tests will be taken from the areas of computer typing (DTP) in English and Assamese, MSExcel, google sheet, Power Point presentation preparation, web-surfing, etc.
5. The final results will be declared based on the combined marks of the written test and the skill test.
6. Notice for the written as well as skill tests will be sent through e-mail only and will be uploaded in the official website www.astec.assam.gov.in. No hard copy will be sent by post. The candidates invited for the tests have to show authentic proof of identity (Aadhar card, PAN Card, driving license or any other ID proof provided by a government authority) in the examination hall along with the original testimonials against the documents they have submitted online along with the application.
Recruitment for Junior Accounts Assistant (for 01 post):
Minimum educational qualification for the post of Junior Accounts Assistant would be “Bachelor Degree in Commerce with major in Accountancy”. The Pay Band and the Grade Pay is Rs.14000 – Rs.49000/- and Rs. 7400/- respectively as per the Council’s norms.
Selection Procedure of Junior Accounts Assistant:
The selection procedure will be same as mentioned in the selection procedure in case of Junior Assistant at Sl. (i) above, except the syllabus and marks for written test and syllabus for the skill test.
The written test will be of 150 marks consisting of multiple-choice questions from the topics general knowledge, English language, test of reasoning and Arithmetic, Book Keeping and accounts related questions. The skill test of 50 marks will be of test on practical knowledge on Information Technology, use of Tally software, taxation and auditing in computer lab.
The final selection will be made on the aggregate marks of the written and the skill test for the posts at Sl. No. (i) & (ii).
- The Individual Hall Tickets for written test will be mailed to the eligible candidate’s E-mail ID only.

- No TA/DA will be admissible to the candidates for attending the written and skill tests.
